LMPD 3rd Division Crime Trends

January 3, 2012

Below are the most recent Crime Trends supplied by LMPD's 3rd Division.  If you would like to receive them directly from LMPD you may do so by clicking here.

Attached are the most recent Crime Trends for the LMPD 3rd Division.  Specific trends to be aware of are as follows: 

  • 2 separate robberies of individuals were reported at the Walmart on Raggard Rd. Later the same day, detectives and officers arrested and charged the suspect in both robberies.  
  • The Shoe Store on Raggard Rd. was burglarized. Any info you ay have regarding this, please call police.  
  • A home burglary was reported on St. Andrews Church Rd. Property taken includes a pink frame, Taurus International .380 handgun.  
  • 3 separate thefts of vehicles were reported In the New Cut Rd, National Turnpike, and  Southside Drive Area. Both vehicles were Honda Civics and the victims in both cases still had the keys. This type of theft of this type of car has become a recent problem county-wide and any information you may have, please pass along to the police.   
  • 4 separate thefts of vehicles were reported on Beat 3. All four were Hondas and either Civics or Accords. Again, this has become a recent county-wide problem. Please pass along any info you may have regarding these thefts.  
  • 1 church burglary was reported on National Turnpike and a computer was taken form inside.  
  • MSD reports a sewer grate stolen from Glissade. This is still a division wide problem and all tips regarding these types of thefts are urged.  
  •  A/C units were reported stolen from St Peter the Apostle Church on Deering Rd. Again, this has been an ongoing division wide problem and police would appreciate any tips you may have.  
  • A burglary was reported at Valley high School. 5 juveniles were caught and charged with this crime.  
  • Another theft of an a/c unit was reported in the 10000 block of Dixie Hwy 
  • 1 theft of an a/c unit was reported on Cedarwood Dr.  
  • 2 separate coin machines that sit outside of 12000 Dixie Hwy. were broken in to. Any info you may have regarding this, please pass along to the police.

We appreciate any help from the community to solve crime.  Please talk to all of your friends, family members, social and professional organizations and make them aware of this new service the Louisville Metro Police Department is offering.  The more the information gets out to the commmuntiy the better our chances of keeping Louisville safe.
