ADDITIONAL DRAINAGE WORK ON LAHAINA BYPASS (HONOAPIILANI HIGHWAY REALIGNMENT) AT KAI HELE KU STREET

KAHULUI – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises the public of additional work at the intersection of the Lahaina Bypass and Kai Hele Ku Street starting Monday, Sept. 9.

The work at the Kai Hele Ku intersection will take place off the road and there are no lane or shoulder closures expected; however, motorists are asked to drive with caution through the area as there will be an increase in activity at the intersection and at driveways along Kai Hele Ku Street.

The work is expected to be completed in December, weather permitting, and will involve wall construction, riprap placement, concrete swale construction, and fence installation. This is a corrective measure and does not add to the construction cost of the previously completed Lahaina Bypass Phase 1B-2.
