DEP PARTNERS WITH FGCU TO HOST ECONOMIC GROWTH WORKSHOP
~2nd annual workshop demonstrates how economic growth, Florida's evironment coexist~
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has partnered with Florida Gulf Coast University's Small Business Development Center to host the second annual Earth Day workshop "Economic Growth and Business" at FGCU on April 17.
There will be two panel discussions moderated by DEP South District Director, Jon Iglehart during the free three-hour workshop. The first panel is the Environmental Panel featuring Collier and Lee County government officials, Big Cypress Basin - South Florida Water Management District representatives and Lee County Port Authority officials.
The second panel is the Business Panel featuring representatives from Buckingham Farms, Stafford Engineering, Garden Street Recycling, Green Ground Effects and HSA Engineers and Scientists.
The panels will discuss local, state and federal environmental rules, statutes and directives that support or hinder smart growth from both the government and business perspectives. The workshop is desinged to increase awareness about govenrmental agencies to foster a friendlier business environment.
