NEW CITIZEN SUPPORT ORGANIZATION STARTED FOR STATE PARKS IN FLAGLER BEACH
~The Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park now support two local state parks~
A new friends group will help with park enhancements and provide free visits, newsletters and special event opportunities.
FLAGLER BEACH – The Florida Department of
Environmental Protection’s Gamble Rogers
Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach
and North Peninsula State Park will now be supported by a newly formed citizen
support organization, the Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park.
The mission of the Friends is to support the two parks through fundraising, community involvement,
educational outreach and enhancements to park
resources. The organization, officially formed on May 11, is now accepting new members.
If you enjoy attending the parks'
much-loved programs, camping in the oceanfront campground or simply visiting to
walk the beach, fish or hike, you are invited to continue in your support of the
park by joining the Friends group.
Members will receive 12 free visits per year, newsletters and invitations to
special friends-only events. In addition to these benefits, 100 percent of
membership dues will go to supporting the park’s
resources and facilities.
