DEP SOUTHWEST DISTRICT TO HOLD SEMINAR ON WATER DISCHARGE MEASUREMENT

TEMPLE TERRACE– The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold an Open Channel Flow Measurement compliance assistance seminar on May 2, 2012, at DEP's Southwest District Office. DEP is partnering with Teledyne Isco, a company that manufacturers flow measurement devices, to conduct a workshop on the proper way to measure discharges to surface water. The workshop will cover methods of measuring flow rate, common mistakes made to determine flow and the accuracy of different measurement methods. The goal of the seminar is to provide local facilities, such as domestic wastewater and power plant facilities, information on discharge measurement.
