“Through his proposed budget, Governor Rick Scott continues to demonstrate his commitment to protecting the natural resources that make Florida the best state in the nation to live, work and visit.
“Governor Scott’s budget includes $40 million in proposed funding for Everglades restoration, which will allow Florida to keep the momentum going in the state-federal partnership to restore one of Florida’s most valuable natural treasures.
“This budget also prioritizes projects and programs dedicated to improving the health of Florida’s water resources. By requesting more than $240 million to restore our waterways and ensure a more sustainable water supply, Governor Scott is working to address one of the most important issues facing Floridians today.
“In addition, Governor Scott requests $15 million for the Florida Forever program, which will allow the state to continue to ensure we have the right public lands in the right places to protect our most important land and water resources.
“The future of Florida depends on both a healthy economy and a healthy environment, and Governor Scott’s proposed budget reflects his dedication to achieving both.”
