YGL Volunteering with United Way NCA

On April 27, 2013, members of the National Chapter of YGL spent the day helping the United Way of the National Capital Area (NCA) refurbish Neval Thomas Elementary School in Washington, DC. Through painting murals of popular children's books in the hallways and landscaping the school's exterior, they joined the thousands of volunteers that gave back to their communities throughout April's Global Month of Service. The principal of Neval Thomas even came by and thanked all of the volunteers for their work! For additional information about this volunteer event or information about future events, contact Christine Connors at cac5bc@virginia.edu.

Survey: What Motivates You to Give?

Young Government Leaders, a professional organization of almost 5,000 men and women, is committed to providing the authentic voice for our generation of aspiring government leaders.

Civic engagement and government service are ideologically linked, and YGL members contribute to the improvement of their communities in several ways—at the office and outside of it. The goal of this survey is to ascertain what motivates giving, and how YGL’s members prefer to give to their community.

This survey should take less than 5 minutes. Your contribution is very valuable and will provide powerful insight into the choices young government employees make when serving their communities. Please note that all responses are confidential and we do not tie individual responses to personal information.
