Holiday Fire Update - 7/7/18, 10 a.m.
As you are probably aware, the Holiday Fire broke out last night near Fairview Avenue north of Cathedral Oaks. Crews worked throughout the night in challenging conditions. Weather conditions are predicted to be less extreme today.
The City of Goleta and the County of Santa Barbara have declared a local state of emergency.
Evacuation orders remain place for La Patera Road to Patterson Avenue north of Cathedral Oaks to West Camino Cielo Road. An evacuation center has been set up at the Goleta Valley Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue, Goleta CA 93117). If evacuating, take your pets with you. Large animals can be taken to Earl Warren Showgrounds. Small animals can be taken to the SB County Animal Shelter (5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA 93117).
A 4 p.m. press conference at Dos Pueblos High School is scheduled to provide the public with additional information.
