NEW GAME WARDEN ASSIGNMENTS IN RAWLINS

LANDER-Teal Joseph is the new game warden for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in West Rawlins. Wyoming game wardens are responsible for wildlife law enforcement and education, damage and prevention, data collection, and wildlife management duties.

Joseph was born and raised in Crystal Falls, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2011 with a degree in wildlife ecology and a minor in environmental law enforcement. She began her experience in natural resources law enforcement with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a law enforcement park ranger and deputy conservation warden/recreational safety officer. In January 2012 she became a Wyoming Game Warden in Sheridan. In September 2012 she was promoted to Senior Game Warden in Gillette, and in January 2015 she will transfer to the West Rawlins district.

“The country in the West Rawlins district is unlike any place I have ever worked before, so I am excited to learn about the area’s wildlife, wildlife habitats, and resource users.  I am looking forward to becoming a part of the Rawlins community. It will be a privilege serving the public and the area’s wildlife resources,” Joseph said. She replaces Brady Frude who transferred to the East Rawlins district earlier this year.

Frude says “I've really enjoyed the last three years as the West Rawlins warden and I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the area. Carbon County offers some of the best hunting and fishing opportunities in the state, and I am truly blessed to be able to be a part of sportsmen and women's experience enjoying the resources here.”

Frude will be a bit busier covering two districts this fall until Joseph arrives, but he will have a lot of assistance from Lander region personnel.

You can contact Joseph at 307-328-0313 beginning in January, and Frude at 307-324-2973.
