the HUD Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program. We are looking for
youth aged 13-24, living in King County with experience of homelessness/unstable
housing. Youth Advisory Board members will be paid $20/hr for their work.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness has released three
new publications for Continuum of Care’s (CoC) Rapid Re-housing resources:
The local RRH data dashboard has been
updated to include quarter 4 of 2016. Visit http://allhomekc.org/rapid-re-housing/

Coordinated Entry quarterly review data is now available in
an interactive dashboard that provides and overview of the overall health and
functioning of our Coordinated Entry for All housing placement system: Coordinated Entry Review, Quarter 4 - 2016
A critical component to making homelessness brief is
developing a coordinated system which ensures that a housing placement isn’t
dependent on talking to the right case manager at the right time. Coordinated
Entry for All establishes a transparent, consistent, and equitable path to
housing for people experiencing homelessness and has recently reached two
remarkable achievements. The responsibility of CEA operations shifted to King
County at the end of June last year. Since that time, the King County CEA
team has been working hard to ensure a smooth transition supporting the
families and young adults seeking housing and the agencies participating in CEA
amidst many technical and policy changes. Last week the referral
specialist team made the 1,000th referral to housing! Thank you to
this hard working team including Jennelle, Alex, Asha, Brandon, Lauren, Stan,
and Sara. In addition, as of this Monday, CEA is making referrals to Permanent
Supportive Housing for single adults experiencing homelessness. Including
all populations in Coordinated Entry increases equity in access to housing,
particularly for those most vulnerable in our community. Thank you to the
entire King County Housing and Community Development team for your hard work in
making this possible.
Recently, our partners at the U.S. Interagency Council on
Homelessness (USICH) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA) have released the following materials and training
opportunities that will assist Continuums of Care (CoCs) and their stakeholders
in their efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
Each of the following resources are described below in more
detail:
CSH, with the help of The Urban Institute, is developing a
Supportive Housing Self-Assessment Tool to assess the organizational capacity
of supportive housing providers. This tool examines the organizational attributes
of organizations — and their communities — that are currently or wish to become
involved in permanent supportive housing as developers, property managers,
scattered-site housing managers or service providers. If you would like to review, beta-test, or learn more
about the tool, please email Jasmine
Simington.
The
Community development Block Grant (CDBG) 2017 RFP for 2018 Non-Housing Capital
Projects is now open for pre-applications. A pre-application is required for
access to the full application, though not binding. The ZoomGrants
online application can be found here.

meetings for each Medicaid Demonstration Transformation project area. The
purpose of these meetings is to share information, discuss the parameters for
the project area, assess potential opportunities and challenges for King County
in engaging in this project area, and identify potential project implementing
partners. Please use this online
form to note your interest in being notified about these meetings.
