Brightside and Waste Management of Kentucky Premium Compost Sale Returns
- October 11th & October 18th
- 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
- Outer Loop Recycling & Disposal Facility
Pre-bagged compost will sell for $2.50 per bag and a Bobcat scoop will be $30. Proceeds from the compost sale will benefit Brightside’s community education and beautification efforts.

The fall 2014 cleanup will take place on Saturday, October 25th. Registration is open and you can sign up on the website, www.brightsideinc.org.

Operation of Mopeds Rules & Regulations
LMPD recently announced they will be stepping up their enforcement of our city's rules and regulations regarding the usage of MOPEDS. Two key provisions all moped users should be aware of are:
- Every person who operates a MOPED upon a public street must be at least 16 years old and must have a valid operator's license.
- No person shall operate a MOPED or ride on one as passenger without approved protective headgear and an approved protective eye device.

Permanent Prescription Drug Drop-Off Site
A permanent drug take-back location is now open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (except on government holidays) at the sheriff’s office in the old Fiscal Court Building, 531 Court Place. To read more on this click here.

Office of Youth Development Mini-Update:
Teachers, youth workers, parents --- challenge your students to take action against childhood hunger and enter this art and writing contest. Winning students will earn scholarships and cash for their schools by creating their own original entries.
