The Social
Security Administration (SSA) has announced that the AccuWage 2013 software is
now available for download. AccuWage is free software from the SSA that allows users to
check electronic W-2 reports for correctness before uploading them to the SSA.
AccuWage reads the file and informs users of any errors it detects. Users may
save time if they know of and fix errors before submitting their W-2 files to
the SSA. The 2013 software is used for 2013 W-2 forms to be filed in 2014. An
informational alert will be displayed if the submitter EIN (RA or RCA Record)
and Employer/Agent EIN (RE or RCE Record) match. This is only an informational
alert, advising the user that the fields match and asking if the user meant for
this to happen. If this was intentional, the user may continue and process the
file as usual.
