The City of Oconomowoc has announced they are opting to use Adaptive Management as their permit compliance option for their POTW.  This flier describes their endeavor, the “Oconomowoc Watershed Protection Program”.  A public meeting describing the project is scheduled for April 29th in the town of Erin.

Stormwater Sector Team

This past month, the MS4/Stormwater Sector Team has been working on TMDL guidance and outreach and planning for the April 28 Quarterly Networking Forum.  The forum will include brief updates on TMDL Implementation, and focus on stormwater related topics with guest speakers and breakout sessions.  More information can be found here.  Please RSVP to Mark Riedel.

DNR Nonpoint staff have been working on the draft implementation plan and a template approach to meeting phosphorus and TSS reductions in the TMDL.  Over the next couple of months, we are individually meeting with counties to learn about ongoing conservation activities and coordinate efforts so they can get credit for ongoing and planned activities.

DNR staff are developing draft text and protocols for the Implementation Plan.  These will be reviewed at the Implementation meeting in May.  Our monitoring program is described here.

Staff have been compiling feedback from the quarterly forum in January and using it to plan the April Forum.  An E&O Sector Team meeting is scheduled for April 28th at UW Extension, Jefferson.  A copy of the agenda is here.

Wastewater

Wastewater staff have wrapped up group Phosphorus workshops and are focused on drafting permits.  We are working with a number of facilities to explore permit compliance options, including water quality trading and adaptive management.
