NEWS: Welcome home ceremony set for returning Red Arrow Soldiers

Gov. Scott Walker, Maj. Gen. Donald Dunbar, Wisconsin adjutant general, and senior Wisconsin Army National Guard leaders will join families and friends to welcome home 28 Soldiers from the 32nd Military Engagement Team and the 32nd Base Defense Operations Center during an 11:30 a.m. ceremony Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs, 2400 Wright St., in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Soldiers, part of the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, return after an 11-month deployment to Kuwait and Jordan. The 32nd Military Engagement Team spent their deployment building relationships with as many as 18 partner nations and militaries in the region while the 32nd Base Defense Operations Center provided mission command of security operations where they enhanced security, stability, provided force protection and administered camp operations in Kuwait.

The returning Red Arrow Soldiers arrived on U.S. soil when they landed at Fort Hood, Texas, Jan. 13. The unit spent several days completing post-mobilization requirements there. A portion of the unit will remain in the Middle East until a later date to be determined.
