COVID-19 PHE Unwinding updates
The recently signed FY 2023 omnibus appropriations bill includes several provisions affecting the Unwinding of temporary Medicaid policies for COVID-19. Most notably, it:
- Sets a date of April 1, 2023, for the end of the Medicaid continuous enrollment requirement.
- Establishes a phase-down approach for enhanced federal funding for Medicaid throughout 2023.
- Ends FoodShare emergency allotments after the February 2023 issuance.
More information about the changes listed above and the related guidance we have received from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) will be provided.
