Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, USDA issued waivers to allow State Agencies administering the CACFP and other child nutrition programs to complete desk reviews in lieu of conducting onsite reviews.
This has allowed us to make changes to our administrative review process to accommodate public health guidelines and to provide necessary social distancing by not visiting sponsors or sites in person.
During this webinar, we will review:
- What a desk review is
- What do you need to do to prepare for a desk review
- The steps to a desk review
- What you'll need to gather and submit for a successful review

The USDA has released several waivers that extend through the summer, as well as some extending through June 2021.
Please visit the OSPI Nutrition & Meals Guidance webpage, under the Important Updates header, to review any of these waivers.
Earlier this spring, USDA released the Crediting Handbook for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This update reflects CACFP meal pattern requirements which became effective October 2017.
Review the Updated CACFP Handbook here!
The updated meal pattern promotes the development of good eating habits through nutrition education. Additionally, this handbook is a supplementary resource to the Food Buying Guide for Child Nutrition Programs and contains additional information on creditable foods served in child and adult care centers, which may be located in a variety of settings.
The Washington Dairy Council has created a handout for you to share out with families. Feel free to share this out with the families you serve!
