Note: Major weekend activities throughout the Eastside Project, May 30-June 2

 

 

  • Full weekend closure of SR 520 between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and I-405 in Bellevue, May 30-June 2

 

Crews are getting closer to completing the SR 520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project and will close all lanes of SR 520 over the weekend of May 30 to June 2 for many activities, including paving and restriping of the westbound lanes. Crews will pave the second to final lift for the westbound lanes; this pavement will level out the joints between each individual slab of pavement. SR 520, between the eastern shore of Lake Washington and I-405 in Bellevue, is slated to open in its final configuration this summer.

 

During this weekend, crews will tackle several other activities throughout the Eastside including transit stop work at Evergreen Point Road and excavation activities near Bellevue Way.

 

Details of the work:

·         Date and time: 11 p.m. Friday, May 30 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 2

·         Traffic and bus rider impacts: Crews will close all lanes of SR 520 and bus stops between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and I-405 in Bellevue for the duration of the weekend. All ramps, roadways, and bus stops will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, June 2.

 

 

  • Crews to close Northup Way nightly between 108th Avenue northeast and Northeast 33rd Place, May 30-June 2

 

Over the weekend of May 30-June 2 crews will close a portion of Northup Way nightly between 108th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 33rd Place for drainage installation. Crews will only work evenings at this location.

o    11 p.m. Friday, May 30 to 7 a.m. Saturday, May 31

o    9 p.m. Saturday, May 31 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 1

o    9 p.m. Sunday, June 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 2

 

 

  • 84th Avenue Northeast roundabout construction staging and traffic impacts begin Monday, June 2

 

Phase 1: Beginning early the morning of Monday, June 2, crews will completely close Northeast 28th Street between 84th Avenue Northeast and Hawthorn Court for one week to build and pave the Northeast 28th Street leg of the roundabout. Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists will access Hunts Point and SR 520 via 84th Avenue Northeast.
