King County Elections certified the November 2015 Recount
today. The recount results confirmed
that Lisa Herbold has been elected to the Seattle City Council District No. 1
race in West Seattle. The 39 vote difference that mandated a recount did not
change after all the votes were recounted last week.
“There have been 49
recounts since 2001, including this one, and changes in the winner have been
rare,” said Sherril Huff, director of King County Elections. “We’ve had
no changes as a result of a recount since we started administering vote by mail
in 2009.”
