Staff and Family Consultation: Emergency Preparedness

It’s a new year, and we would like to highlight the availability of emergency preparedness under the DDA waiver service Staff & Family Consultation. This support is available to all DDA waiver clients during the public health emergency. Some examples of how emergency preparedness support might be used are:

  • Learn how to access additional phone numbers and websites for services in the community
  • Get consultation and advice on how to best use Personal Protective Equipment products such as disinfectants, sanitizers, face masks, thermometer, paper products, face shields
  • Get safety ideas for you’re home and personal spaces
  • Learn when to access testing, vaccinations, medical assistance, and what that looks like

At this point, interest in this very important service is building slowly and has been lower than we expected. This notice is a reminder that this support is still available as Staff and Family Consultation on all HCBS waivers.

In this New Year, please share this opportunity to those who may be interested in using this service. Contact your regional Resource Developer to help identify Staff and Family Consultation providers who are qualified to support individuals with emergency preparedness.
