Commuters To and From Seattle: Reroutes During Chinese Presidental Visit in Seattle Start Tomorrow, 9/22

9/22 - 9/24: Reroutes In Place for President Xi Visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping will be visiting the Greater Seattle area from Tuesday, September 22 to Thursday, September 24.

Wherever the Chinese President goes, streets will be closed-- including I-5 and I-405 at times. Some downtown Seattle streets will be closed, causing transit and general traffic to reroute.

Xi will be at the Downtown Westin, which will close down all the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. There will be no car or bus access on all streets between 4th to 7th Avenues, and between Lenora Street and Olive Way in downtown Seattle.

If you can avoid traveling into downtown Seattle during these days, please consider doing so!

If you cannot, please plan for delays. Follow us on Twitter and pay attention to the local news for the latest updates.
