Join us at Sept. 1 Nauck Community Meeting

Attention Nauck, Shirlington and Fairlington residents – Arlington County staff will attend a Nauck community meeting in September to address the County's temporary use of the former LaPorte Property (3600 S. Four Mile Run) and parking efforts, as well as the status of the master planning process for the Shirlington/Four Mile Run area.

 

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles Drew Community Center (3500 23rd St.). All interested parties are welcome to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there.

 

Construction Updates

Crystal City Multimodal Center

Rebuilding of the 18th Street South roadway under the Route 1 bridge continues. This week the contractor began constructing formwork in preparation for the placement of the concrete. Preparations for roadway reconstruction will continue next week.

Crystal City Potomac Yard Transitway

Transitway construction activities for Saturday, Aug. 22 through Friday, Aug. 28 are described in this week's construction update (PDF). Note that crews are scheduled to work on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Detours/Lane Closures 

The following lane closures are due to construction for the Crystal City Potomac Yard Transitway and Crystal City Multimodal Center.

 

Crystal Drive

  • Between 20th and 23rd Streets - Northbound right lane closed. Access to driveways in this area remains open. 
  • From U.S. Route 1 up to 26th Street South - Parking and right lanes closed. 

Route 1: Northbound right turn lane closed between South Glebe Road and Crystal Drive.

 

18th Street South:

  • Inside lanes on each side of the street are closed between South Eads and Bell Streets. No on-street parking or charter bus parking available in this area.
  • Bike lane closed underneath Route 1 bridge.

South Clark Street: Right lane closed between 20th and 23rd Streets, and between 23rd and 26th Streets.
