Construction Update: Crystal City Multimodal Center

This week the contractor commenced pavement demolition work within the work zone on 18th Street South, starting with the westbound lanes. They will expand to the eastbound lanes by next week.

Pavement demolition activities are scheduled to continue until the beginning of August 2015. During this phase of construction, the current traffic pattern will remain in place. See below for current lane closures.

Construction Detours/Lane Closures 

The following lane closures are due to construction for the Crystal City Potomac Yard Transitway and Crystal City Multimodal Center.

Crystal Drive: 

• Between 20th and 23rd Streets - Northbound right lane closed. Access to driveways in this area remains open. 
• From U.S. Route 1 up to 26th Street South - Parking and right lanes closed. 

Route 1: Northbound right turn lane closed between South Glebe Road and Crystal Drive.

18th Street South: Inside lanes on each side of the street are closed between South Eads and Bell Streets. No on-street parking or charter bus parking available in this area.

South Clark Street: Right lane closed between 20th and 23rd Streets, and between 23rd and 26th Streets.
