In honor of Veterans and their service, several activities honoring Veterans are planned for November, 2017.

On November 1, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the St. Cloud VA Medical Center is hosting an Open House for Veterans. The purpose of the open house is to familiarize Veterans with the VA health care services their service has earned. Veterans and family members who have never used the VA health care system, are newly enrolled or those who want to learn how to effectively access and use VA systems of care may attend. The open house will be held in Building 48, Room 124, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, 4801 Veterans Drive, in St. Cloud.  Veterans who need assistance may gather at 1:15 p.m. at the main entrance to the medical center (Building 1) for escort to the open house location.

On November 5, at 1 p.m., the St. Cloud Metropolitan Veterans Council, Times Media, City of St. Cloud, other local businesses and organizations and the St. Cloud VA Health Care System are hosting the 11th Annual Veterans Day Parade and Social to honor the men and women who have served our country in the armed forces.  The parade begins on the west side of the VA Medical Center Campus and proceeds east across 44th Avenue and concludes on the north side of Apollo High School. Immediately after the parade there will be a “thank you” open house in the Apollo Commons, at which the public can thank Veterans in person. Light snacks will be provided.

On November 11, the St. Cloud Metropolitan Veterans Council is sponsoring a Veterans Day program at 1:30 p.m. in Building 8 (Auditorium) at the St. Cloud VA.  The keynote speaker is retired U.S. Army Major David Hintgen.  A reception, hosted by the Department of Minnesota, United States Bowling Congress, follows. Parking is available to the north and east of Building 8.  Veterans, their families and members of the public are invited to attend.
