Small businesses interested pursuing contracts with public agencies and private corporations are invited to attend the Southern California 8(a) Conference on May 7th from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Garden Grove, CA.

This event will provide small businesses an opportunity to meet with representatives from Federal, State and local departments, and commercial/prime contractors; access available technical assistance; and learn about upcoming contracts.

Federal and Non-Federal Acquisition/Forecast

Teaming Opportunities/Mentor-Protégé/Joint Venture - The Mentor-Protégé program helps build effective working relationships between leaders of mature established companies and emerging small business enterprises in order for the protégé to benefit from the knowledge and experience of the established mentor firms. Learn about various MP programs.

Federal & State Certifications - How many certifications are there for small businesses and what opportunities do they provide access to? This session is designed to answer those frequently asked questions and more. You will learn: Who is eligible? What are the requirements? How does one become certified? What are the benefits?

Access to Capital - This workshop is aimed at growing small businesses that are navigating the complex world of capital access.  It will cover equity financing, bank financing, and other early stage capital alternatives.

Capabilties Statement and Navigating Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) - This session will provide samples and evaluation checklists to assist you in making a statement in your marketing efforts with Capability Statements being the focus. Learn the key components, review good and bad examples, and make your business attractive to the government. Plus you will get expert tips on how to best capture opportunities presented through the FBO.
