Free Small Business Administration Workshops

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has partnered with The City of Bridgeport’s Small & Minority Business Resource Office to offer free seminars for small business owners interested in the contracting arena.

All workshops will be held at:

Margaret E. Morton Government Center
999 Broad Street – 1st Floor Conference Room
Bridgeport CT

Workshop times are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday May 1, 2014: Financing Your Small Business:

Finding capital for your small business is not impossible.  Get pointers from the SBA that will help you get your business moving toward financial stability.  Topics discussed will be traditional (SBA’s guaranteed loan program) and non-traditional (SBA’s micro-loan program) ways of financing.

Thursday May 15, 2014: How to Navigate and Search for Bids:

This seminar will cover the websites for locating federal bids over $25,000 and the State’s bid portal where the State and Municipal bids can be found.  You will learn how to locate various bids along with solicitations restricted under socio-economic headings.

Thursday May 29, 2014: How to Prepare a Bid Package:

This seminar will use a current solicitation from the State’s Bid Portal and FedBizOps as examples. Discussions will be an understanding of contract terminology, what to look for such as pricing, delivery instructions, geographic areas, what additional documents should be provided, should it be submitted electronically or hard copy, etc.
