NIH RFP for Creative and Novel Ideas in HIV Research — Due October 16, 2013 Funding from the Centers for AIDS Research (CFAR) program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is available for developmental projects to bring insight and new ideas from early-stage scientists with expertise in other disciplines to HIV research. The Creative and Novel Ideas in HIV Research (CNIHR) grant program welcomes innovative proposals from both international and U.S.-based investigators to answer essential questions in HIV research, including emerging issues of long-term survival with HIV infection, prevention of HIV transmission, and research toward a cure. Eligible applicants include junior investigators who have completed either their first terminal research degree or medical residency within the last 10 years, and who have a faculty or equivalent position at an academic institution or a comparable position in a not-for-profit organization or research institution. U.S. Federal Government employees are ineligible to apply. Awards will be funded for 1 to 2 years, up to a maximum of $150,000 in direct costs per year.
