Join the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health and Office of Minority Health in observing World Breastfeeding Week! Celebrated every year, World Breastfeeding Week is a time for people around the world to promote the benefits of breastfeeding. This year’s theme, “Breastfeeding Support: Close to Mothers,” focuses on support for moms who want to breastfeed and encourages family members, friends, employers, and others to help make breastfeeding easier. Earlier this year, the Office on Women’s Health launched a new campaign to educate African-American women about the importance of breastfeeding. It’s Only Natural equips new moms with practical information that encourages them to make the choice to breastfeed. During the first week in August and throughout the month, we are asking you to join us in promoting It’s Only Natural. Help us share tips for African-American moms and find ways to support their efforts to breastfeed! Get Involved
If you have additional questions, please call the Office on Women’s Health Helpline at 800-994-9662. Thank you for helping us celebrate this year’s World Breastfeeding Week! |
