Office of Minority Health (OMH) FY 2015 Funding Opportunity Announcements

OMH at the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) administers grant programs to support projects that implement innovative models to improve minority health and reduce health disparities. OMH currently has four funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) for which applications are being accepted:

Internships / Mentoring

  • Association of American Indian Physicians (AAPI): National Native American Youth Initiative (NNAYI). This is an intense summer program for American Indian and Alaska Native high schools students and is designed to prepare and motivate students to pursue a career in health care or biomedical research. Scholarships / Fellowships

  • National League for Nursing (NLN): Foundation for Nursing Education Scholarship Awards. These scholarships are awarded to nurses pursuing advanced degrees in preparation for a career as academic nurse educators. Deadline is May 13, 2015. Learn more.  

National Minority Health Month

Events

  • HHS/OMH: Health Equity Twitter Storm in honor of National Minority Health Month and the 30th anniversary of the landmark HHS Report of the Secretary’s Task Force on Black and Minority Health. The storm will highlight the 4th anniversary of the HHS Disparities Action Plan and National Stakeholder Strategy for Achieving Health Equity and collaborative work with our partners and stakeholders committed to health equity.
