  • American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG): Warren H. Pearse Women's Health Policy Research Award. This award provides a grant for research that explores an aspect of healthcare policy which assists, defines, or restricts the ability of a physician to deliver health care to women.   • Gulf States Health Policy Center (HPC), in collaboration with the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama at Birmingham: Health Policy Research (RFA-GSHPC-14-15-001) Grant.   • New York Academy of Medicine: Glorney-Raisbeck Medical Student Grants in Cardiovascular Research. Preference will be given to candidates attending medical school or conducting research in the greater New York area (New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, or New Jersey).   • Mount Sinai/Icahn School of Medicine: International Exchange Program for Minority Students. Undergraduate, master or doctoral degree students will work on research projects under the guidance of prominent international scientists in one of six countries in Latin America, Europe or Africa. Affordable Care Act (ACA)

  • November 15 kicked off the start of a new open enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace, where millions of Americans can go to compare and buy health insurance plans for 2015 through HealthCare.gov, the call center or in-person assistance. Consumers purchasing or renewing plans on the Marketplace will find an increase in their options for affordable, quality coverage this year. December 15 is the last day to renew or sign up to get coverage beginning on January 1.
