This Valentine’s Day, don’t just say, “I love you.” Let people know you plan to spend many more holidays together — and that heart health is an important part of staying well.

Happy family smiling.
Talk about heart health with someone you love.

You could say: “Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer in the United States? But there are lots of things we can do to lower our risk.” Then suggest that you and your loved one take these small steps together.

Go for a walk tonight instead of watching TV.

Share an order of fish or a lean cut of meat at a restaurant.

When you feel stressed, remind one another to take some deep breaths.

Get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked.

Hint: Forward this message to people you care about to let them know that heart health matters!
