NLRB Announcement: Beth Tursell promoted to Deputy Associate to the General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management

National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of Assistant to the General Counsel Beth Tursell as Deputy Associate to the General Counsel in the Division of Operations-Management of the Office of the General Counsel in Washington D.C.

In her new position, Ms. Tursell will have oversight responsibility for the operations and management of the Agency’s 50 nationwide field offices with the support of the professional staff in the Division.  Prior to her promotion, Ms. Tursell served as Assistant to the General Counsel where she had oversight responsibility over a District that included nine Regional Offices.  At the same time, she also held the senior management position in the General Counsel’s Compliance Unit within the Division.

 Ms. Tursell began her career with the Agency in 1978 as a cooperative student intern working in the Detroit Regional Office.  She then joined the National Labor Relations Board in a full-time capacity working as a field examiner in the Baltimore Regional Office, and, in 1996, she was promoted to the Compliance Officer position.  In 2004, she joined the Division of Operations-Management staff after her promotion to the Deputy to the Assistant General Counsel position, and was promoted once again within that Division to Assistant to the General Counsel in 2011. 

A native of Warren, MI, Ms. Tursell received a B.A. degree in business administration from Wayne State University in 1979 and a M.A. degree in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1983.
