Shelley B. Plass Named Miami Resident Officer

November 5, 2014

Richard F. Griffin, Jr., General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board, has announced the appointment of Shelley B. Plass as Resident Officer of the Agency’s Miami Resident Office, which reports to the Tampa, Florida Regional Office (Region 12). In her new position, Ms. Plass will assist Regional Director Margaret J. Diaz in enforcing the National Labor Relations Act in the southern Florida area.

Ms. Plass received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Georgetown University and her Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law. Ms. Plass began her career with the NLRB in 1990 as a Field Attorney in the Miami Resident Office and was serving in that position prior to this appointment.

The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It investigates and remedies unfair labor practices and conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation.
