Technology Scouting and TDMI Updates

Several MEP Centers have been awarded, or are pursuing, grants from the DoD’s Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) to assist defense suppliers in their regions to diversify into commercial markets. Technology-Driven Market Intelligence (TDMI) is an excellent tool to help manufacturers identify new markets and applications with needs they can address. For more information, contact Dave Cranmer (david.cranmer@nist.gov) or Steve McManus at RTI (smcmanus@rti.org).

MEP Advisory Board Committee on Technology Acceleration (ABCTA)

Over the last six months, the ABCTA worked with NIST MEP staff and utilized input from a Center Leadership Team on Technology Acceleration to provide the MEP Advisory Board guidance to shape MEP’s Technology Acceleration strategy and activities. This process resulted in the development of a Technology Acceleration Implementation Plan and supporting Background Report, which were presented to and approved by the MEP Advisory Board. NIST MEP staff subsequently hosted a webinar on June 10 to discuss the ABCTA process undertaken, resulting recommendations and next steps. Please note that, due to technical issues, the webinar begins seven minutes into the recording. To view the webinar recording, click here.  As a next step, NIST MEP will hold a mid-July webinar on the formation of a Technology Acceleration Working Group, as called for in the Implementation Plan. We will be releasing the date, time and additional details regarding this webinar soon.
