November is Also American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month
Diabetes is more common in American Indians and Alaska Natives. To commemorate American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage month, the NDEP’s We Have the Power to Prevent Diabetes tip sheet and Ten Ways American Indians Can Prevent Type 2 Diabetes article can help American Indians and Alaska Natives learn how to lower their risk for type 2 diabetes. It’s flu shot season and the NDEP reminds you that people with diabetes are at high risk for serious flu complications, and the best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year. Encourage everyone – especially those with diabetes – to get a flu shot
