Diabetes Alert Day is March 25, 2014: Take the Diabetes Risk Test

American Diabetes Association Alert Day®, observed annually on the fourth Tuesday in March – Tuesday, March 25, 2014 – is a one-day wake-up call to inform the American public about the seriousness of diabetes, particularly when diabetes is left undiagnosed or untreated. In observance of Diabetes Alert Day, the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is encouraging people to take the Diabetes Risk Test and know their risk for type 2 diabetes. • Diabetes Risk Test: Encourage people to take the Diabetes Risk Test– available in English and Spanish – to know their risk for type 2 diabetes.

• Behavior Change Videos: Share videos featuring NDEP experts and patient volunteers talking about preventing type 2 diabetes, including Preventing Type 2 Diabetes and Latecia’s Story: Preventing Type 2 Diabetes: Maintaining a Healthy Weight. 
   
• Ready-to-Use Feature Article: Submit NDEP’s Know Your Family Health History to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes feature article to your local newspaper or promote it in your organization's newsletter or e-newsletter.
