UltimateMe Helps Warfighters and Their Families Track Fitness Goals

A new program being tested at 14 Defense Department sites is already showing some very positive results for those striving to improve their health and well-being. UltimateMe, a part of Operation Live Well’s long-term Healthy Base Initiative, lets service members, their families, Department of Defense civilians, and retirees track goals and helps them set personal benchmarks for health and nutrition.

Soldier-Scientists begin closure of Ebola testing labs
Feb. 16, 2015

As the mission of Joint Forces Command – United Assistance comes to an end, there are a few more tasks that service members, deployed in support of Operation United Assistance, have to complete.

The 1st Area Medical Laboratory, based out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, deployed as Task Force Scientist in support of OUA, is closing all four of their Ebola testing laboratories in Liberia.

Donors Recognized for Giving “The Gift” of Blood
Feb. 17, 2015

The Armed Services Blood Bank Center-Pacific Northwest held a ceremony to thank donors for “giving to the red, white and blue,” Jan. 30. As part of National Blood Donor Month, the event was designed to recognize the donors who contributed to the effort to save lives of deployed service members worldwide and military personnel, their dependents and retirees at military medical facilities stateside.
