HIT acting director talks modernization, cost effectiveness at HIMSS

The information technology chief of the Defense Health Agency addressed the 2016 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition Tuesday, where he described the future of the Department's health information setup as unified across the services and in the process of modernizing to enable worldwide health care delivery.

Woodson highlights the evolution of concussion diagnosis and treatment

Since the global war on terror began in 2001, more than 330,000 warfighters have suffered some form of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Of those TBI sustained in combat, the majority were caused by an improvised explosive device. 

 

Dr. Jonathon Woodson, assistant secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and leader of the Military Health System, talked about such concerns at a panel discussion about brain injuries held in downtown Washington at the Reserve Officers Association.
