Twenty-five years as an avid cyclist have resulted in tremendous benefits to Army Lt. Col. Scott Gregg. Not only has he maintained a healthy weight, but he also feels cycling has helped keep his mind sharp. “I really enjoy riding. It gives me a chance to recharge my batteries, relieve stress and get some good exercise,” he said. “I always tell my wife, there are cyclists, and there are guys on bikes. I’m a cyclist.”

Sponsored annually by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Blood Donor Day acknowledges the millions of people who have made life-saving blood donations and recognizes the significant work of blood donor programs around the world. One of those organizations is the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP), the U.S. military’s official program of blood collection, manufacturing and transfusion.

The Madigan Army Medical Center team is the first military hospital to participate in the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, or AACN, Clinical Scene Investigator Academy, a national nonprofit program, which seeks to empower nurses to make patient care improvements.
