COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES ANNOUNCE TECHNICAL AMENDMENT TO RULE REGARDING DOLLAR AMOUNT OF DISTRIBUTION REQUEST REQUIRED TO AVOID FILING FEE IN DISTRIBUTION PROCEEDINGS (81 FR 8649)
The Copyright Royalty Judges have issued a technical amendment to a Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) rule regarding the fee for participating in distribution proceedings. The amendment brings CRB rule 351.1(b)(4) into conformity with the Copyright Act by stating that parties who wish to participate in CRB royalty distribution proceedings must submit a $150 filing fee with their petitions to participate unless they will not seek a distribution greater than $1,000 (instead of $10,000), in which case no filing fee is required. The technical amendment takes effect on February 22. For details, click here.
