The Secretary of Commerce invites nominations to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (REEAC), of U.S. citizens who will represent U.S. companies in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector that trade internationally, or U.S. trade associations or other U.S. private sector organizations with activities focused on the competitiveness of U.S. exports of renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services. What's Happening?

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Policy Mission to Peru
November 12-13, 2014, Lima, Peru
The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) is organizing a Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE&EE) Trade Policy Mission to Lima, Peru.  The mission will be led by a senior ITA official and will focus on creating a policy environment conducive to growth in Peru’s RE&EE market and will introduce U.S. RE&EE exporters to key Peruvian Government officials.


IFT Energy

The U.S. Commercial Service is working closely with the organizers of Power Brazil to provide a variety of services and benefits for U.S. companies exhibiting at this event, which will bring together key players in Brazil's power generation, transmission & distribution, and smart grid industries.


Infrastructure Business Development Mission to Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan

The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration is organizing an Executive-led Infrastructure Business Development Mission to Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan (with optional West Bank briefings). The purpose of the mission is to introduce U.S. firms and trade associations to Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan’s rapidly expanding infrastructure markets and to assist U.S. companies to pursue export opportunities in these markets.


Webinar: Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Opportunities in Peru
August 7, 2014- The U.S. Department of Commerce will a host webinar to highlight renewable energy and energy efficiency export opportunities to Peru – one of Latin America’s fastest growing markets. Participants will: hear from Commerce Department officials stationed in Lima, Peru; learn about an upcoming RE&EE Trade Policy Mission scheduled to visit Peru in November, 2014; and discuss best practices with U.S. exporters familiar with the Peruvian clean energy market. Click here to register.

USTDA Director Announces New Energy Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa
U.S. Trade and Development Agency Director Leocadia I. Zak concluded her participation in the U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial, where she announced two new projects that will replace diesel generation with energy efficient, environmentally friendly solutions.


OPIC Board of Directors Commits to Lake Turkana Wind Power Project, Affirms Power Africa Pledge
The Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government’s development finance institution, has approved an investment guaranty of up to $250 million to support construction of the Lake Turkana Wind Power project in northern Kenya.


USTDA Accelerates the Deployment of Distributed Energy Resources in India
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency has awarded a grant to Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), a leading electricity distribution company in India, for the development of a distributed energy resource plan for its service territory in north Delhi. The project will enable TPDDL to prioritize and deploy distributed energy resources that will improve the reliability of its electricity network, reduce emissions, and lower overall power costs for its more than six million customers.


USTDA Expands Commitment to Renewable Energy Development in South Africa
U.S. Trade and Development Agency Director Leocadia I. Zak signed grants for three renewable energy projects in South Africa.
