Peru Flag

Trade Policy Mission to Peru

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) is organizing a Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE&EE) Trade Policy Mission to Lima, Peru from November 12-13, 2014.  The mission will be led by a senior ITA official and will focus on creating a policy environment conducive to growth in Peru’s RE&EE market.  U.S. RE&EE exporters will be introduced to key Peruvian Government officials before the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change annual meeting (COP-20), which will be hosted by Peru in December.

June 8-12, 2014 - Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, and Trinidad and Tobago 

The International Trade Administration and U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) are organizing a trade mission to the Caribbean, in conjunction with the Trade Americas - Opportunities in the Caribbean region Conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic June 8-12, 2014.  Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.

Morocco Solar Photovoltaic Trade Mission
June 8 – 18, 2014
USTDA will host a delegation of key public sector officials from Morocco's energy sector on a visit to the United States to participate in the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver. The Morocco Solar Photovoltaic (PV) RTM will bring together Moroccan solar sector decision makers with U.S. solar technology providers, EPC’s and financial organizations to forge partnerships for future solar project implementation in Morocco.

U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial
June 3-4, 2014- Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
The Government of Ethiopia and the Government of the United States will co-host the U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial (AEM), which will focus on the theme of “Catalyzing Sustainable Energy Growth in Africa” and provide a forum for major announcements and commitments that support energy development throughout Africa.

Vietnam Smart Grid Development and Implementation Reverse Trade Mission June 2014- Locations: Washington D.C., Raleigh-Durham, NC; Atlanta, GA; San Francisco, CA.
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will host a delegation of key officials from Electricity Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVN HCMC) on a visit to the United States to participate in a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) focused on smart grid development. During this RTM, the delegation will have the opportunity to meet with U.S. companies to learn about smart grid distribution technologies that can support efforts to modernize and enhance power system efficiency and reliability in Vietnam.

Secretary Moniz to Lead Delegation to U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial

Secretary Ernest Moniz will join Northern and sub-Saharan African energy ministers for the U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial on June 3-4. Co-hosted by the Government of Ethiopia, the Ministerial will bring together representatives from government, private sector, and academic communities to discuss best practices and technologies for sustainable energy development in Africa.

USTDA Director Announces Nigeria Smart Grid Project

As part of the Department of Commerce’s Energy Business Development Mission to West Africa, U.S. Trade and Development Agency Director Leocadia I. Zak announced support for a project to develop a comprehensive plan for implementing smart grid solutions throughout the power networks of the Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies, which serve 16 million customers in the Lagos metropolitan area.
