Road Show Spotlight: Mexico

Mexico Map

Spring is in the air and our exciting line-up of SelectUSA Road Shows is underway.  In this special Spotlight edition, we've highlighted our upcoming Mexico Road Show (May 20-21), including a description of Mexico's foreign investment into the United States, a brief background on the Road Show's two stops (Querétaro and Mérida), and details on how to sign up.  Hope to see you there!

                                   Mexico

In 2012, the total stock of Mexican foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States stood at $29.2 billion, making Mexico one of the top fifteen largest sources of FDI.  Hundreds of large and small Mexican companies have made successful investments, and many more are considering expansion.  The opportunities are there; the investors are there; you should be too!  Our Road Show will take place in two of central and southeastern Mexico's key business centers: Querétaro and Mérida.

Queretaro

                                                       Querétaro

Querétaro is only 210 km north of Mexico City and is among Mexico’s strongest economies.  It is the number one state for public finance stability, the second safest, and the third most competitive state in the nation.  Querétaro is strategically located with direct highway connections to both Mexico City and the United States.  It also shares a border with five other Mexican states.  The region has a strong presence in advanced manufacturing industries, including aerospace, automotive, and appliances, as well as the biotechnology and information technology industries.  This dynamic region is bustling with businesses looking for the right opportunities for expansion

Merida

Yucatán

Yucatán is considered the most important business region in southern Mexico, sharing borders with Campeche and Quintana Roo.   Yucatán is conveniently located and serves as a natural platform for commercial routes with the United States.  Mérida, the state’s capital, is considered the most competitive city in southern Mexico.  Yucatán's primary industries are wholesale and retail trade, construction, professional services, textiles, and transportation and logistics.  Yucatán's location and infrastructure offer many advantages and provide easy access to and from the United States.
