The 7th edition of the Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) is the only international trade show for the environmental industry in Macau. A 531 MW run-of-river hydroelectric power plant to be built in Chile received a structured project finance loan from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The power plant will be a key generation facility for Santiago and reduce electricity costs, as well as greenhouse gas emissions, in a country that has become increasingly reliant on coal and diesel generation plants.
