Mayor Training Programs –Greentech Showcase Sessions September–November, 2013 –

The U.S. Foreign Commercial
Service (FCS) is partnering with American Planning Association (APA) and the
U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Program to recruit American companies to showcase
their green tech products at a series of “Green Tech Showcase Sessions”. These
Green Tech Showcase Sessions will be held in Washington D.C., and will consist
of Chinese mayors, party secretaries and urban planners who are looking for
sustainable solutions in the following areas: green building, energy
efficiency, environmental technology, clean transportation, smart grid,
renewable energy, urban planning and architecture design.
Reverse Trade Mission: Southern Africa Solar September 5-13, 2013 - Washington, DC; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; San Francisco, CA
The USTDA is sponsoring the second of two Reverse Trade Missions (RTM) to foster U.S.-Southern African partnerships in the implementation of solar power projects in Southern Africa. The first RTM took place in January of 2013, and the second will take place in September of 2013. It will include delegates representing private sector organizations from Southern Africa. The delegates will meet with U.S. companies and tour solar project sites in Washington, DC; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; and San Francisco, CA.

Through the International Buyer’s Program, the Department of Commerce
will bring foreign delegations and Commercial Service specialists from around
the world to meet with U.S. companies.
Renewable Energy India 2013 September 12-14,
2013 - New Delhi, India
This year’s 7th annual Renewable Energy India, a
Department of Commerce Certified Trade Fair, will attract industry players and
buyers from India’s rapidly growing renewable energy market. Exhibitors include
both domestic and international firms.

of Commerce to Showcase U.S. Companies at PowerGen Brasil, HydroVision Brasil
and DistribuTECH Brasil September 24-26, 2013 - São Paulo, Brazil
Through Trade Fair Certification,
the Department of Commerce recognizes the capability and exhibition experience
of PennWell Corporation to organize a world class pavilion for U.S. exhibitors
to showcase products and services in the hydroelectric power, power generation,
and power distribution sectors. U.S. Commercial staff will be available
to assist U.S. firms with their export needs, and to facilitate contacts
between U.S. exhibitors and business visitors.
Turkey
Geothermal Power Reverse Trade Mission September 28-October 4, 2013 - Las Vegas and Reno, NV; and the San
Francisco, CA area
USTDA is sponsoring a reverse trade mission to the
United States for a delegation of more than 10 private sector geothermal power
plant developers from Turkey to explore U.S. technologies and best practices
for geothermal power plants. These developers represent a majority of the more
than 600 megawatts in geothermal power plants currently under development in
Turkey.
Nigeria Electricity Distribution Reverse Trade Mission October 15-25, 2013 - Atlanta, GA; Washington,
DC; Philadelphia, PA
This Reverse Trade Mission will connect the
senior management of Nigeria's newly privatized distribution companies with U.S. companies that provide equipment and services in the electricity
distribution sector, with a focus on loss reduction and smart grid
technologies, as well as policies, regulations, financing mechanisms and
management structures that can support the implementation of smart grid
infrastructure in Nigeria. The visit will include a Business Briefing at USTDA's
headquarters on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

Investment Summit October 31–November 1, 2013 - Washington, D.C.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit will connect investors – both foreign and domestic – with U.S. cities, states, and regions. The Summit will also help companies more effectively navigate the U.S. business climate, connect with U.S. EDOs in a meaningful way, and ultimately invest in the United States.
Energy Efficiency Trade Mission to China November 3-9, 2013 - Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, and Chongqing, China
The focus of this one-week trade mission is to
help US companies in the energy efficiency sector to enter into (or expand
operations in) the Chinese market. The focus is on helping participants to find
and take advantage of real business opportunities. For purposes of this
mission, energy efficiency includes residential and commercial building
efficiency/green buildings as well as industrial efficiency.
Asia Regional Waste-to-Energy and
Biomass Reverse Trade Mission November 3-14, 2013 - Washington, D.C.; Seattle, WA; Sacramento, CA; and San Francisco, CA
The U.S.
Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is supporting a regional Reverse Trade
Mission intended to introduce 15 officials and project developers in the
waste-to-energy and related biomass power subsector in Indonesia, the
Philippines and Thailand to relevant industry suppliers, service providers and
regulators in the United States. This regional activity will support USTDA's
effort as part of the U.S.-ASEAN Connectivity Cooperation Initiative as well as
the U.S.-Asia-Pacific Comprehensive Energy Partnership.

Supports Expanded Economic Partnership with Indonesia Through Infrastructure Development
Projects
USTDA concluded two new grants supporting the development of
energy and information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure in
Indonesia. These activities are part of broader efforts to support economic
development and connectivity throughout the country, utilizing U.S. equipment

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee to Meet The Secretary’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee is scheduled to hold its third meeting under its current charter on September 10th. The Committee is charged with developing recommendations on improving the export competitiveness of the RE&EE sector and was created through the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative.
