China Green Ports Technology Reverse Trade Mission

Department of Commerce Seeks Industry Input into the U.S.–Mexico Bilateral Framework on Clean Energy and Climate Change

U.S. exporters are requested to share their views on ways to bolster investment in Mexico’s clean energy market. The input will be delivered to officials from the U.S. and Mexican Governments during the U.S.-Mexico Bilateral Framework on Clean Energy and Climate Change, the premier high-level dialogue on clean energy cooperation between the United States and Mexico. Specific topics of interest include energy efficiency, wind, solar, smart grid, and financing. Please email comments to by July 19.


Announcement of the President’s Climate Action Plan

In his press statement regarding President Obama’s Climate Action Plan, Secretary of State Kerry noted that he is engaging with foreign governments such as China and India to transform global energy economies. The United States plan includes working toward lower carbon emissions from power plants, promoting energy efficiency, and using more renewable fuel sources. [June 2013]


OPIC Board Approves Financing for Wind Farm in Uruguay

OPIC will loan up to $96 million in support of the Melowind project, a 50 MW wind farm in northeastern Uruguay. The project's turbines will be supplied by Nordex, USA, based in Jonesboro, Arkansas. [June 2013]


USTDA Participates in US-India Strategic Dialogue

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) participated in a Strategic Dialogue in India in order to position U.S. private sector companies to help implement India’s infrastructure development plans, increasing exports of American goods and services in the energy and aviation industries. [June 2013]


Financing a Clean Energy Future for India

Secretary of State John Kerry announced a Development Credit Authority (DCA) loan guarantee that will allow DCA partners Nereus Capital and Northern Lights Capital Group to invest $100 million in clean energy production in India. [June 2013]


OPIC Joins USGLC Annual Conference Highlighting Smart Power and Innovation

OPIC participated in the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Annual Leadership Conference, focusing on American aid investment and its role in building jobs and security at home. [June 2013]
