1. Extended Maintenance Window for the Modernized e-File (MeF) this Sunday The Modernized e-File (MeF) Sunday maintenance build window is being extended on Sunday, Sept. 7. The system will be unavailable from 1:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Eastern Time. The build will deploy critical system updates. This extended window impacts the MeF Testing and Production Environments. Thank you in advance for refraining from accessing the MeF Testing and Production Systems during this period. 2. Sept. 17 Webinar: 2014 Affordable Care Act Tax Provisions for Individuals, Families and Small Businesses This Sept. 17 webinar will provide information on the: • Individual Shared Responsibility Provision The webinar includes a live Q&A session with a subject matter expert. 3. Summer 2014 Statistics of Income Bulletin Now Available The summer 2014 issue of the Statistics of Income Bulletin is now available on IRS.gov. The IRS Statistics of Income (SOI) Division produces the online Bulletin on a quarterly basis. Articles provide the most recent data available from various tax and information returns filed by U.S. taxpayers. 4. Interest Rates Unchanged for the Fourth Quarter of 2014 The Internal Revenue Service announced that interest rates will remain the same for the calendar quarter beginning Oct. 1, 2014. 5. Sept. 11 Webinar: Retirement Plan Hot Topics Sign up now for this Sept. 11 webinar and learn about the myRA program, IRA tax-free rollovers, the Windsor Supreme Court ruling, invalid Social Security numbers, Form 5500-EZ filing pitfalls and relief program, and tips for self-employed plan sponsors. 6. Technical Guidance Revenue Procedure 2014-53 provides the domestic asset/liability percentages and domestic investment yields needed by foreign life insurance companies and foreign property and liability insurance companies to compute their minimum effectively connected net investment income.
