Job Summary:
GSAs Public Buildings Service (PBS) is the real estate arm of the Federal government and a major force for innovation in the design, construction and operation of commercial office buildings and campuses. As the Director of Design and Construction in the National Capital Region (NCR), you will be responsible for the management and execution of PBSs largest, most complex and most visible building construction projects. PBSs NCR team is dedicated to supporting Federal workplace needs in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, through the management, acquisition and operation of 104 million square feet of Federal workspace (48 million square feet of owned space and 57 million square feet of leased space), including the headquarters buildings of most federal agencies. Recent and ongoing projects include the construction of a new national headquarters for the U.S. Coast Guard at St. Elizabeths; the ongoing renovation of multiple buildings at St. Elizabeths to consolidate other components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; and many high-profile Recovery Act high performance green building projects, including renovation of the headquarters of the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Commerce.
