Job Summary:
GSA has been repeatedly named by the Partnership for Public Service as one of the 'Best Places to Work in the Federal Government'. This announcement is to recruit for summer interns to assist with a variety of administrative duties in GSA's Public Building Service (PBS), Office of Design and Construction. PBS acquires space on behalf of the federal government through new construction and leasing, and acts as a caretaker for federal properties across the country. Ideal candidates will be pursuing a degree in a field of study related to the work, such as architecture, urban design or related design disciplines such as interior design, sustainable design, environmental, landscape design, or urban design and planning. These positions will be located in GSA's Public Building Service (PBS), Office of Design and Construction. Positions will be located at the GSAs Central Office Headquarters Building at 1800 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20405. This position is being announced under the Pathways Student Internship Program. This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.
