A New Year A New Space

Renovation

New Space For GSA’s Smallest Customers

Joyful Noise East Child Care Center in Portland, Oregon, recently expanded space to include a new room for the wobblers (children 12 to 18 months-old). The new room features improved lighting, child sized fixtures, and abundant natural light.

Project manager Terry Martinson,  Property Manager Jim Silk, and Child Care Architect Ania Shapiro worked together to transform this office space into a beautiful and functional environment with child-sized counters, sinks, and toilets. Martinson’s enthusiasm to move the wobblers into the space before the new year kicked the project into high-gear. He worked closely with the property management team, child care team and multiple contractors to complete the project.

Children, families, and staff all  love the new space!

Playground Re-Opening

Thank You
=============

Children and staff have reason to celebrate as the playground at Newark Federal Kids Care at the Peter Rodino Federal Building in Newark, New Jersey is back open.  The Newark playground was closed due to some much needed repairs.  The opening ceremony took place on Thursday, December 10, 2015,  where not even the chill could keep the kids from enjoying their new playground.

Thanks to all who helped with this project and assisted in getting it back open.

Board Business: Successful Fundraising Begins with Planning

=============

The new Board Networking Exchange group met again in January with a bonus webinar "Successful Fundraising Begins With Planning".

Sandy Axelrod and Jill Rhea presented a short presentation and then facilitated a discussion with several Boards who had some successful fundraising ideas to share.

If you missed the call, look for the next quarterly meeting to be held in the spring.
