Florida to Hold Special Republican Primary Election for Representative in Congressional District 19

 

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The State of Florida will hold a special Republican primary election in Congressional District 19 (CD19) on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 to fill the seat vacated by Congressman Trey Radel. No other party is holding a primary election for CD19.

 

The special election will only apply to voters in Lee and Collier counties within CD19. If you are unsure of what Congressional District you live in, please contact your county Supervisor of Elections at: http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_election_list.asp .

 

The April 22 special primary election deadlines are as follows:

Register to Vote - Monday, March 24, 2014

Ballot request received (by mail) - Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Ballot request received (by fax or email) - Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Ballot postmark - Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Ballots must be received for absent Stateside Uniformed Service members: Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Ballots must be received for overseas Uniformed Service members and overseas citizens: Friday, May 2, 2014

 

The subsequent special general election will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

 

You can register to vote and/or request an absentee ballot using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) online assistant at: fvap.gov/florida

 

If you are registered and have requested your ballot, but are concerned you may not receive your ballot in time to vote, use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). The FWAB cannot be used to register to vote. Florida allows registered voters to use the FWAB to vote in elections for any Federal office, and any State or local office with at least two candidates.

 

The FWAB online assistant is available at: fvap.gov/florida

 

The forms are also available at military installations and embassies around the world. You can track your ballot status online by logging into your local election official’s website or indirectly through the Florida Division of Elections’ Voter Lookup Portal available at: registration.elections.myflorida.com/
